Crowd As Ayu, Others Welcome Shekarau Back To PDP In Kano

The national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Iyorchia Ayu on Monday confirmed the return of former Kano State Governor, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau to the party. The ceremony to receive Shekarau back from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to the PDP was held in Kano State, Naija News reports. Shekarau defected along with thousands of his fans and supporters after a fallout with the NNPP leader and presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso. The former Kano Governor was also presented with his PDP membership card at the ceremony on Monday which was attended by PDP National Leaders. Read more.

2023: Peter Obi Meets Nigerians In Canada, Reveals Plans For Nigeria

The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) Peter Obi, has held an interactive town hall session with Nigerians living in Canada. The meeting was held at Hilton Toronto Airport Hotel and Suites, Mississauga, Ontario on Sunday with the theme: “Positive impact of the Diaspora on the growth and development of Nigeria.” In a series of tweets via his Twitter page on Monday, Obi said bad leadership has seriously damaged Nigeria, stressing that Nigerians must rescue the country and end bad governance. The former Anambra State Governor asserted that the objective of his presidency is to move the country from consumption to production. Obi, however, expressed his appreciation to the Peter Obi Nigerian Canadian Interest Groups, and the local organising committee for organising the event. Read more.

Atiku Finally Receives Shekarau Back To PDP

2023 Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has received former Governor of Kano State, Sen. Ibrahim Shekarau back to the opposition party. This took place at the Mundubawa home of Shekarau in Kano State on Monday. Naija News reports that Atiku alongside his running mate, Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, PDP national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu and other chieftains of the party, had embarked on a three-day visit to Kano in anticipation of Shekarau’s return to the PDP ahead of 2023 elections. The PDP chieftains arrived in Kano on Sunday and are expected to explore the state in a move to lure more notable politicians ahead of the forthcoming elections. Amosun vs Abiodun: Ogun APC Set To Suspend 100 Members For Taking Part In ADC Primaries

The political battle between Senator Ibikunle Amosun and Governor Dapo Abiodun in Ogun State has taken a new turn. This is as some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) said to be loyal to Amosun have been accused of participating in the primary election of the African Democratic Party (ADP) in the state. A call has therefore been made for their immediate suspension from the APC for anti-party activities. Top on the list is a factional chairman of the APC in Ogun State, Chief Derin Adebiyi who is said to enjoy the backing of former Governor Ibikunle Amosun, the Senator representing Ogun Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly. Following the development, a letter has been written to Governor Dapo Abiodun and the APC leadership in Ogun State for them to initiate suspension and eviction processes against the affected persons. Tertiary Education Is Not A Human Right, ASUU Has Always Been On Strike – APC Chieftain

A member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential Campaign Council, Ayo Oyalowo, has said that tertiary education is not a human right. The APC stalwart said this during an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today. Oyalowo, made his stand known when he responded to a comment made by a Peoples Democratic Party chieftain, Anthony Elihebo, who made a reference to a remark by the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, on university education in light of the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). ‘Why Wike Met With Atiku After Meeting With Tinubu In London’

Fresh details have emerged about the meeting between the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu last week with the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike in London. Tinubu and Wike reportedly met to discuss ‘plans’ to work together in the 2023 general elections. Reports emerging, however, show that the meeting between the former Governor of Lagos State and Wike was not successful. Naija News learned that Tinubu did not agree to all the conditions placed before him by Wike. According to ThisDay, the unsuccessful meeting between Tinubu and Wike prompted the meeting between the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar and Wike also in London. 2023: Labour Party Agreed Kwankwaso Was A Good Candidate – NNPP Discloses Reason For Crashed Merger With Obi’s Camp

The National Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Prof Rufai Alkali has disclosed the reason the merger between their presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and his Labour Party (LP) counterpart, Peter Obi, failed. Alkali told newsmen on Sunday, at the NNPP’s secretariat in Abuja that the alliance failed to come to fruition because the LP camp insisted that NNPP concedes the presidency to them. He said: “A technical committee was set up to work out the alliance. “But for the eight hours that they met, the LP camp said just one thing; that Kwankwaso should concede the presidency to Obi, that it was the time of the South East to become the president.” He said that the LP camp agreed that Kwankwaso was a good candidate but it was time for Southeast to take over power. Oyo Governorship Aspirant Set To Sue Buhari Over REC Nominations

A governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Oyo State, Michael Lana, has threatened to challenge the nomination of names of members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presented by President Muhammadu Buhari to the National Assembly for confirmation as Resident Electoral Commissioners in court. Lana, who is a former Attorney General of Oyo State, in a statement on Sunday gave the President three days to immediately withdraw the names of APC members . He noted in the statement on Sunday that any election conducted by these “APC loyalists” would not stand in the face of the law and would amount to waste of taxpayers’ money and time, candidates and their parties. The Non-Indigenes Association in Rivers State has called on Governor Nyesom Wike to back the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023. Speaking to journalists in Port Harcourt, chairman of the association, Felix Ogbegbor, asked Wike to shun the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, and that of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu. The group stated that they decided to back the presidential candidate of the Labour Party based on his antecedents as governor of Anambra State. The Director of Media and Communications of the Campaign Council of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential candidate, Dele Alake has shared his opinion on the reason former Govern of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode did not get a second term ticket. Alake, while speaking during a Twitter Space session hosted by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (ABAT) Media Centre, on Sunday explained that Ambode didn’t get a second term ticket because incumbent Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu defeated him at the 2018 primaries. Ambode reportedly went against the leadership of the party controlled by Tinubu which led to his defeat. Speaking on the incident, Alake who was the Commissioner for Information and Strategy during Tinubu’s administration said that contrary to what people think his principal did not deny Ambode the second term ticket. Political activist, Deji Adeyanju has reacted to the demands made by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State to the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar. The spokesperson of the Atiku presidential campaign committee, Dino Melaye has warned Peoples Democratic Party Governors against plans to remove the National Chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu. According to Melaye, the PDP Governors were the ones who introduce Ayu and picked him as the National Chairman of the party. He wondered why the Governors who supported Ayu in December 2021 are now suddenly calling for his removal. Kwara: ‘O To Ge’ Movement Was Deceitful – Saraki Points Fingers At APC, Accuse Party Of Manipulation

Former President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State of maliciously using the ‘O to ge’ campaign to oust the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from government. According to Saraki, the strategy was adopted to deceive the people of the state just to win elections. The former Senate president stated this on Sunday while receiving members of the ruling APC in the state who defected to the PDP. The APC won the 2019 general elections in the state, winning the governorship seat, the three Senate seats, six House of Representatives seats and 24 state House of Assembly seats.
