Multichoice Announces New Price Increment for DStv and GOtv Subscriptions
Multichoice Nigeria has revealed another increase in subscription rates for its DStv and GOtv services, marking the second adjustment in just four months.
Set to take effect from May 1, 2024, the new pricing will impact both new and renewing subscribers.
The company cited escalating production costs as the primary reason for this adjustment. Subscribers can expect increases ranging from 20% to 26% across various packages. For instance, the DStv Premium Package will now cost N37,000, up from N29,500. Other DStv packages, such as Compact Plus, Compact, Confam, Yanga, Padi, and the HDPVR and XtraView services, will also see significant price hikes.
Similarly, GOtv packages including Supa+, Supa, Max, Jolli, Jinja, and Smallie will experience price increases, with rates adjusted accordingly to manage the rising operational costs.
John Ugbe, the CEO of Multichoice, acknowledged the burden these price adjustments may place on consumers but emphasized the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality content and maintaining excellent service standards. The adjustments are portrayed as a necessary measure to sustain the delivery of premium entertainment and viewing experiences across Nigeria.
