The PUNCH: The presidential candidates of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his Labour Party counterpart, Mr Peter Obi, on Monday sought northern support for their ambitions to succeed the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) in 2023. The two candidates unfolded their agenda on restructuring, insecurity, economy, power and corruption.


The Guardian: The September Consumer Price Index (CPI) reading points to a slower inflation rise, but experts have dismissed the data as deceptive, warning that a worst food crisis scenario could be lurking behind the veneer of the statistics. Daily Trust: The scarcity of petrol is yet to end in Abuja just as some tanker drivers blame persistent gridlock in Lokoja, Kogi State. According to a survey by Daily Trust yesterday, while more fuel stations are now dispensing petroleum products, there are still visible queues over one week after the petrol scarcity began.


Daily Sun: President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday, said he had met the yearnings and expectations of Nigerians with high impact projects. He stated this amid opposition parties accusing his administration of poor handling of security challenegs and economy . They claimed these have left dire impacts on quality of life, the purchasing power of the naira and cost of staple foods like rice, beans, garri, wheat, maize, among others.
