Former Imo State Governor Emeka Ihedioha Dumps PDP, Joins New Party

Emeka Ihedioha, the former governor of Imo State, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Ihedioha, a founding member of the party, has been with PDP for more than 25 years.

In his resignation letter addressed to the party’s chairman at the Mbutu Ward of Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area, Ihedioha expressed that his personal beliefs no longer align with the direction the party is taking. He highlighted his concerns regarding the PDP’s inability to enforce its own rules, carry out necessary internal reforms, or effectively challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress. “Regrettably, the party has embarked on a path that diverges significantly from my personal beliefs,” Ihedioha remarked.

The decision to leave the party was not easy for Ihedioha, but he believes it was the right choice to make. He emphasized his ongoing commitment to fostering democracy and good governance in Nigeria. Ihedioha extended his gratitude to the PDP for the various opportunities to serve and contribute over the years.
