It’s Better To Engage In Yahoo Yahoo Than Gambling – Seun Kuti Drops Controversial Statement

Afrobeat musician, Seun Kuti said on Monday that he would rather be an internet fraudster also known as ‘Yahoo Yahoo’ instead of a gambler.

He begged African youths to stop gambling and engage in ‘Yahoo Yahoo’ instead.

Speaking further, Kuti insisted that gambling is a lost cause from the get-go when compared to Yahoo Yahoo.

Making case for his preference still, Seun noted ‘Yahoo Yahoo’ can be controlled unlike gambling where the people are at the mercy of a scheme.

Man Conspires With Friend To Kill His Three-Week-Old Child In Nasarawa - Police

The Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Police Force said it is currently investigating the heinous killing of a toddler by a man alleged to be the father of the child.

It was revealed in a statement made available to newsmen over the weekend by the Command’s spokesman, DSP Ramhan Nansel, that one Abdulkadir Ahmed conspired with his friend and lured his estranged wife to a location where they killed her baby.

Naija News understands that the 40-year-old prime suspect was followed and arrested by police operatives who were immediately informed of the disturbing situation.

DSP Nansel revealed that Ahmed had committed the alleged crime on October 11 in Lafia, the state capital of Nasarawa.

He said Ahmed and his ally, Hassan Sabo of the same age, lured the mother of the three-week-old baby to his shop opposite a Correctional Facility in Lafia under the pretext of seeking reconciliation with her.

However, on arrival at the shop, the suspect allegedly took the child away from the mother into the shop while Sabo engaged her in a discussion outside, and suddenly, the child screamed and went quiet.

The police spokesman said the mother upon hearing her child scream, inquired from Ahmed who came out of the shop alone. He, however, lied to her that the child had gone to sleep.

Not satisfied with his response, the woman reportedly rushed into the shop and found her child lying lifelessly as the suspects immediately fled the scene on a motorcycle.

Nansel said the body of the child was evacuated to Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, Lafia by the police for post-mortem examination but was confirmed dead.

The spokesman added that the state Commissioner of Police, Adesina Soyemi, has ordered a thorough investigation into the dastardly act.

Ghana Authority Deports 16 Nigerians Over Alleged Cyber Crime

Ghana Authority Deports 16 Nigerians Over Alleged Cyber Crime

The Ghanaian authorities have reportedly deported at least sixteen Nigerians from the country over their alleged involvement in fraudulent activities.

A statement issued on Friday in Lagos by the Controller of the Seme Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Dr Chukwu Emeka, explained that the citizens of whom many are victims of deception were tagged with cyber crime by the sister African country.

The NIS boss said preliminary investigation revealed that some of the citizens had entered Ghana through illegal routes as many of them were made to believe they will find their greener pasture in the part of the African continent.

“Ghana’s Financial and Intelligence Agency accused them of cyber crime but from our preliminary investigation, we discovered that some of them were lured into these criminal activities due to the get-rich syndrome our youths are developing.

“Some of them are victims in the sense that they were deceived that they can make money if they leave Nigeria. Unfortunately, they don’t get the actual thing they bargained for in Ghana.

“Further investigation also showed that most of them left the country through illegal routes or through the sea to other West African countries,” Emeka said in the statement obtained by Naija News on Friday.

The official said since many of them had travelled without genuine travel documents, they became prey to the Ghanaian authorities.

According to him, the Comptroller General of NIS, Idris Jere, had always advised Nigerians to get genuine travellers’ documents before leaving the country.

He added: “Yes, we are part of the ECOWAS treaty of free movement and goods within the sub-region. But the condition is that you must enter those countries through a legitimate route and with the right travel documents.

“It is also important to have definite means of livelihood, if not, by the time you get there, they will see you as a public charge and they will return you to your country.”

More Nigerians Will Be Deported

Emeka who lamented the knowledge of young Nigerians getting involved in some unholy activities outside the country, when they should be building their talents for their future, said more of the citizens would be repatriated from Ghana soon.

He urged Nigerians to always travel with valid documents, adding that they should live and do their businesses according to the law of the land they had travelled to.

Emeka stressed that the Government of Ghana had contacted the Seme Command of NIS and that more Nigerians would be sent packing soon. The controller promised to return those already repatriated to their families after NIS must have concluded its investigation.

One of the deportees, Richard Paska, a 24-year-old graduate of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, said that he was lured to Ghana by the promise of a good job.

“My father had to look for money to let me go in February 2021, so that I could start a job. The job was a networking business, but when I arrived in Ghana, the story changed.

“I was managing myself with some Nigerians when some of the personnel of the Ghana Immigration Service arrested us and brought us back to Nigeria.

“I had intended to come back but I did not have the transport fare. I really regret going to Ghana,” he said.

Naija News learnt that the 16 deportees are men with ages ranging from 19 years to 24 years.

IPOB Alleges Two Reasons Why 101 Boko Haram Terrorists Were Released By Buhari Gov’t

IPOB Alleges Two Reasons Why 101 Boko Haram Terrorists Were Released By Buhari Gov't

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Wednesday alleged two reasons why President Muhammadu Buhari’s government may have secretly released 101 members of Boko Haram terrorists from the Ikoyi Prison last weekend.

Reports had emerged earlier that terrorists were allegedly released from Kirikiri Medium Security Prison on Saturday morning.

An insider who confided in FIJ disclosed that wardens at the prison facility released the terrorists from the medium and maximum security facilities as part of a swap deal with the terrorists for the release of travellers who were abducted in Kaduna on March 28.

Reacting to the development, IPOB in a statement made available to newsmen today through its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, said the government may have released the terrorists as either an exchange for Abuja-Kaduna train hostages or so the dreaded group can be prepared for the National Jihad.

The proscribed group lampooned the incumbent government for releasing known terrorists and illegally detaining its embattled leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and other members in various detention facilities across Nigeria.

“This Federal Government covertly sponsors and supports terrorists who have massacred a lot of people by the way they colluded with the terrorists to free their members from Kuje Prison a few months ago.

“The same Government has unconditionally released the remaining terrorists from Ikoyi Prison”, Powerful said.

He further stated that “These terrorists freed by their Government were either swapped with the Abuja train hostages or freed to prepare for National Jihad as the Fulanization agenda is at its final stage.

“These Boko Haram terrorists detained in Ikoyi, Lagos were never taken to court since their detention in 2019 and we are aware that no Court freed or granted them bail but they were released through Presidential or cabals’ order.

“They have been unconditionally released to continue their terrorism and jihad business which is the lucrative business of the Caliphate.

“The Nigeria Government kidnapped and continues to detain the IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in solitary confinement with other IPOB members unjustly.

“The Government of Nigeria is telling us that no other people in other tribe matter but only the murderous terrorist showing Ndigbo and others are not needed in Nigeria”.

Powerful urged the government to unconditionally release Kanu and other IPOB members detained in several security mediums in Nigeria immediately.

“We are calling men and women of good conscience across the world to prevail on Nigeria’s Government and its security to unconditionally release IPOB Leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and other IPOB members because self-determination is a fundamental human right both internationally and locally.

“IPOB Leader and other members must be released if Nigeria wants peace,” the statement added.
