Reactions as ‘OPPENHEIMER’ Dominates, Bags 7 Oscars at the 96th Academy Awards

The 96th Academy Awards witnessed the remarkable victory of “Oppenheimer,” the enthralling biopic thriller that captivated audiences and critics alike throughout the awards season.

With a total of 13 nominations, the film clinched seven Oscars, including the prestigious Best Picture award, showcasing its undeniable impact on both the industry and viewers.

Although “Oppenheimer” had an extraordinary night, it did not surpass the record for the most Oscars won by a single movie, a title still held by “Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” (2003), “Titanic” (1997), and “Ben Hur” (1959), each with 11 wins. Despite facing stiff competition from “Poor Things” in several categories, the film’s achievements are a testament to its excellence and the hard work of its cast and crew.

Upon receiving the Best Picture award, Emma Thomas, the producer of “Oppenheimer” and wife of Christopher Nolan, expressed her long-held dream of this moment, highlighting the emotional significance of the win for the team behind the film.

Christopher Nolan was honored with the Best Director award, adding another feather to his cap in his illustrious career. Cillian Murphy’s portrayal of the titular character earned him the Best Leading Actor award, while Robert Downey Jr. celebrated his first Oscar win, taking home the Best Supporting Actor award. The film also received accolades for its Film Editing, Cinematography, and Best Score, emphasizing its technical and artistic prowess.
