Why Minna International Airport Was Renamed After Tinubu

During a press conference in Minna on Sunday, the State Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Hon. Binta Mamman, announced that preparations have been finalized by the government for President Tinubu’s upcoming visit.

The Minna International Airport, previously named after Abubakar Iman, will be renamed in honor of President Tinubu, according to Mamman.She also mentioned that President Tinubu’s visit includes the inauguration of agricultural machinery purchased by the state government, worth billions of naira, among other activities in the region.

Mamman assured that all necessary precautions have been taken to ensure a smooth visit by the President.The Commissioner highlighted additional projects that the President will inaugurate, such as the renovated airport terminal and the groundbreaking ceremony for a new Hajj terminal at the airport.

Commissioner for Agriculture, Bawa Bosso, emphasized the state administration’s dedication to achieving food security through agricultural mechanization, mentioning that 500 out of a planned 10,000 tractors have been provided, along with 200 of the intended 1,000 power tillers, with planters still pending delivery at Minna airport for the event scheduled for Monday.

Isah Adamu, the Special Adviser on Governance and Reform, also stated that the President would not only inaugurate the agricultural equipment but also perform the ceremonial foundation laying for the Hajj terminal at the airport before returning to Abuja.
