PHOTOS: Govt Steps in as Family Exhumes, Reburies Body of Cinematographer Who Died Along with Junior Pope, Others in Boat Mishap

The remains of late Precious Chimaobi who lost his life along with popular Nollywood Actor, Pope Odonwodo AKA Junior Pope, and other victims has been exhumed and reburied.

This is as the Rivers State Government stepped in to offer financial aid for the exhumation, transportation, and burial expenses of the late Ofurum, a talented Nollywood cinematographer and video editor from Rivers State.

Recall that Ofurum who tragically lost his life in a boat mishap in Anambra State which involved the popular nollywood actor Pope Obumneme Odonwodo also known as Junior Pope, was later buried at the Riverside after the family allegedly failed to meet up with the burial rites demanded by the custodian of the Rivers in the community.

According to Port Harcourt reports, on Friday, April 26th, 2024, Her Excellency Professor Ngozi Nma Odu, the Rivers State Deputy Governor, accompanied by Dr. Osunwa Kenneth, Chairman of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Rivers State, paid a condolence visit to Ofurum’s family in Ubima, Rivers State.

During the visit, Ofurum’s parents consented to the exhumation of their son’s body.

The government conveyed its heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the late Precious Chimaobi Ofurum and assured them of support during this challenging period. May his soul rest in peace.
