Details as Russia Intensifies Arms Supply for Soldiers on Ukraine Operation

Russia has announced plans to significantly increase its weapon supplies to troops engaged in operations across Ukraine’s southeast.

This decision comes as Russian forces continue to make tactical gains, capturing several villages in the Donetsk region and securing strategic positions in the Kharkiv area.

During a high-level military meeting, Valery Gerasimov, the chief of the general staff who oversees the operation in Ukraine, reported to Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. Shoigu emphasized the need for enhanced weapon and military equipment supplies to sustain the momentum of the offensive.

This military escalation occurs against the backdrop of Ukrainian forces facing setbacks due to weapon shortages, as highlighted by Kyiv’s top military commander, Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi. He recently issued a warning about the potential loss of more territory if Western nations do not expedite their weapons deliveries to Ukraine. General Syrskyi also confirmed a tactical withdrawal from villages near Avdiivka, indicating the intense pressure Ukrainian forces are under.

Russia describes its involvement in Ukraine as a “special military operation” and now controls just under a fifth of Ukraine’s territory, primarily captured during the initial stages of the conflict that began in February 2022.
