UTME 2024:JAMB Releases UTME Results, Make Shocking Revelations

In a recent announcement by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), the results of the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) have been released, revealing statistics about the performance of candidates.

Out of the 1,842,464 candidates who sat for the examination, a substantial 77% scored below 200 points, indicating a widespread challenge among participants to reach higher marks.

The breakdown provided by Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the Board’s Registrar, offers a deeper insight into the performance tiers:

•8,401 candidates managed to score above 300.

•77,070 candidates scored between 250 to 299.

•439,974 candidates scored between 200 to 249.

•A notable 1,402,490 candidates scored below 200.

These figures are crucial as JAMB is set to announce the minimum benchmark for university admissions for the 2024/2025 academic session during its upcoming policy meeting. Historically, the admission thresholds have fluctuated between 180 and 200 points.

In response to evolving needs for security and efficiency in the admission process, JAMB has introduced new methods for candidates to accept or reject admission offers. Candidates will now need to use either an SMS code or their biometric data at accredited centers to make their decisions.
