Popular Nollywood Producer, Andy Best Passes Away

The Nigerian entertainment industry is once again in mourning following the loss of one of its most prominent figures, Ikechukwu Nnadi, known professionally as Andy Best.

The celebrated Nollywood producer passed away in a hospital in Owerri, Imo State, after battling a prolonged illness.Andy Best was not just a name in the Nigerian film industry; he was a cornerstone of creativity and excellence. With an illustrious career that spanned several years, he contributed immensely to the shaping and success of Nollywood. Best was known for his exceptional skill in storytelling, bringing to life stories that resonated with many. His work on films such as “White Poison,” “Lion of Africa,” “My Sweet Sister,” “Pretty Angels,” “Queen of My Heart,” and “Rain Makers” left an indelible mark on the industry and audiences alike.

News of his passing was shared by fellow movie producer, Seun Oloketuyi, who took to Instagram to announce the unfortunate event. “Andy Best, top Nollywood producer and marketer, is dead. He died in an Owerri hospital today,” Oloketuyi wrote, marking a somber moment for those within and outside the Nigerian movie industry.

Andy Best’s death is a significant loss, coming just a few days after the industry lost another veteran, the comic actor John Okafor, better known as Mr. Ibu.
