NAPTIP regains control of Twitter account after hackers’ attack

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) temporarily lost control of its Twitter account, @naptipnigeria.

A hacker attack resulted in a compromise of the federal agency’s official handle on Monday night.

There were numerous links posted that led viewers to YouTube videos with bitcoin trading tutorials.

One of the tweets about cryptocurrency advertisement read: “Crypto holders, check this out!”.

NAPTIP has now regained control of the account and the tweets deleted. The incident was reported to Twitter.
