Jonathan Reveals Position On Contesting 2023 Presidency

Former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan on Friday addressed supporters who have been clamouring for him to join the 2023 presidential race. Jonathan told the demonstrators who stormed his private office in Abuja to demand he declares for the 2023 presidency that the political process is ongoing, urging them to just watch as things unfold. The Rivers State Governor and 2023 presidential aspirant, Nyesom Wike has revealed that only one thing which is death can make him step down from the presidential race. He added that he doesn’t believe in the idea of a consensus candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 2023 presidential ticket that some aspirants are promoting because there is no sincerity in their plans. Former Anambra Governor and current Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige has said he does not need to resign because of Section 84 (12) of the Electoral Act. The presidential hopeful claimed that he is a public officer and is not bothered about the section because it does not apply to him. The Vice President of Nigeria and 2023 presidential hopeful, Professor Yemi Osinbajo is will visit Ibadan the Oyo State capital today. This was made known to Naija News on Friday morning by his spokesman, Mr. Laolu Akande. SDP National Chairman Suspended Over Alleged Anti-party Activities

The National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Dr Olu Agunloye, has been suspended over alleged anti-party activities. Naija News reports that Agunloye was suspended by the Ondo State chapter of the party in a letter dated March 28, titled ‘Letter of Ratification of the Suspension of Dr Olu Agunloye’. In the suspension letter, Agunloye was accused of bringing non-party members into the party to cause confusion and disturb the functions of the party executives at both state and local government levels.
