Ekiti poultry farmer shot dead by gunmen

Gunmen suspected to be assassins shot dead a poultry farmer in the Ago Aduloju area on the outskirts of Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State.

According to PUNCH, a source said the farmer, after finishing his work on Wednesday, was about to enter his car when he was attacked.

“It appeared like the gunmen were waiting for him around where he parked his vehicle. Immediately they sighted him, they opened fire and he was hit in the head.

“The hoodlums fled the scene afterwards, leaving him in a pool of blood,” the source added.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Sunday Abutu, who confirmed the incident, said security agents had begun investigation into the matter.

Abutu said, “A distress call was received yesterday (Wednesday) around 6.30pm by the Odo Ado Police Division that a man was shot by two unidentified gunmen right in front of his poultry farm at the Ago Adeloju area.

”A team of police personnel moved to the scene where the victim was met in a pool of blood. He was immediately rushed to a hospital where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor. Investigation has commenced into the matter.”
