Breaking: This Is Why I Will Meet With Nnamdi Kanu In DSS Custody Today- Barr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor.
Since the recent arrest of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), the question of who will defend him in court as his lawyer has been on the mind of many and as well a matter of national and international interest. This is because many seem to fear persecution by the federal government if they come out to act as his legal counsel and representative.
However, De Erudite Media gathered today that the popular barrister who defended him in 2015 when he was first arrested and arraigned by the federal government, Barr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor has stepped out to take up his client’s case and thus continue to represent him in his treason and other charges laid against Kanu by the government.
In his post on the facebook page, Barr. Ejiofor said; “Update Thankfully Our effort is yielding the desired results, We have just received a communication approving Our visit to Our Client, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Shall keep the world posted on the outcome, immediately after the meeting, later in the Day. God is with Us. @EjioforBar”.
Many have saluted the barrister and extolled him for his courage for stepping out to defend the separatist activist perceived as an enemy of the government.
It’s worthy of note to recall that a combined team of security forces of the government was alleged to have gone to the house of the barrister in the dead of the night few weeks ago. The visit left the barrister’s PA dead and the body burnt alongside one of the lawyer’s cars. The CCTV cameras in the house were said to have captured the commando-like operation of the security agents that came to the barrister’s house where they met the absence of the barrister.
