BREAKING: Terrorists Attack, Kidnap Scores of Students, Teachers in Kaduna

In the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, a staggering number of 232 students and teachers were abducted by gunmen, suspected to be terrorists, from LGEA Primary School.

The abduction, which included the headteacher and several staff members, occurred on a Thursday morning, marking a significant and alarming event in the region’s ongoing struggle with insecurity.

The incident was highlighted by former Kaduna senator, Shehu Sani, who expressed his sorrow over the event on social media. Sani’s post not only underscored the gravity of the situation but also recalled a recent tragedy in the same village where a school principal was murdered, and his wife kidnapped.

Despite the grim circumstances, Sani voiced hope for the swift and safe return of those taken.

The affected educational institution had previously moved to a more secure location within Kuriga town due to escalating security concerns. This relocation emphasizes the dire insecurity challenges that have plagued the region, forcing communities to adapt in the face of continuous threats.

Kaduna State Police, through their spokesperson Mansir Hassan (ASP), confirmed the kidnapping, noting that the exact number of victims was still under verification.

Hassan reassured the public that significant efforts were underway to rescue the abducted individuals. “We have deployed additional security personnel to comb the area. All security forces in the state, including police, military, and local vigilante groups, are collaborating closely to ensure a successful rescue mission,” Hassan stated.
