Breaking: Adeleke Suffers Defeat To Oyetola, APC In Tribunal

The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke on Friday was sacked by the court as he suffered a defeat to his predecessor, Gboyega Oyetola, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Osun State governorship tribunal.

Oyetola and APC had challenged the victory of Adeleke and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the July 16, 2022, governorship poll.

The counsel representing Oyetola, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), and Akin Olujinmi (SAN), insisted that Adeleke did not win the majority of lawful votes and should not have been declared the winner of the election.

They also said there were inconsistencies in the certificates presented by Adeleke.

Soucers learnt that the three-men panel led by Justice Tetsea Kume on Friday ruled in favour of Adeleke and PDP.
