PDP BoT Starts Meeting With Wike In Port Harcourt (See Those In Attendance)

The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike on Tuesday reiterated that he and his allies are not leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Governor Wike stated this after the closed-door meeting with the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the party. Recall that members of the BoT led by the acting chairman, Adolphus Wabara met with Governor Wike in Port Harcourt over the crisis in PDP. The Rivers State Governor while speaking after the meeting which lasted for almost four hours emphasised the importance of unity in the party. He noted that his concern is not whether PDP achieved peace or not today, but what is important is that the party is united. Wike while addressing newsmen said, “What is important is to have unity, even if it takes you longer days. I think that is the message he(Wabara) is conveying.” The former presidential aspirant added that he and his allies have stated several times that they would not be leaving the main opposition party. He also stated, “but that does not mean that there are no internal issues that ought to be sorted out. I think what they are here for is to see how they can sort out some internal issues.” PDP would be hoping to commence its presidential campaign on Tuesday in Akwa Ibom State as a united party.
