2022 FIFA World Cup: Wonders As Qatar Sets To Disassemble 974 Stadiums

Spectators across the globe are still wowed by the innovative capacity behind the 974 Stadiums previously known as Ras Abu Aboud Stadium, in Ras Abu Aboud, Doha, Qatar.

Stadium 974 is one of Qatar’s stadiums that will be disassembled after the World Cup.

According to reports, Abu Aboud Stadium was named 974 because it was built using 974 shipping containers, which makes it fully a recyclable structure.

Qatar has announced that it will give away the 974 Stadium as a gift to Jordan as an expression of appreciation for its support to Qatar during the World Cup.

The stadium will be disassembled back into 974 containers and shipped to Jordan to be re-assembled again there permanently.

Recall that the stadium which was opened on 30th November 2021, is a temporary venue made from 974 recycled shipping containers to host matches during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, after which it will be dismantled.

It is the first temporary venue in FIFA World Cup history.
