Why Supreme Court Dismisses Atiku’s Plea to File CSU’s Evidence Against Tinubu

In the ongoing ruling on the petitions filed by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party PDP against President Bola Tinubu winner of the February 25th, 2023 Presidential election under the umbrella of the All Progressives Congress, the Supreme Court of Nigeria sitting in Abuja has taken a vital decision in favour of the ruling party.

This is as the Supreme Court decided on the application of PDP’s Atiku to present fresh evidence to support his appeal.

Recall that Atiku had sought the leave of the apex court to submit Tinubu’s credentials obtained from the Chicago State University to prove the president forged the documents he submitted to INEC.

The Apex Court, however, dismissed Atiku’s Plea To File Fresh Evidence Against Tinubu

It also queries Atiku on why he didn’t present the evidence before the elections when the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC released the eligible candidates.

Justice Inyang Okoro delivered the verdict on Thursday during the hearing of the appeals filed against Bola Tinubu’s win at the Presidential Election Tribunal Court (PEPC).

To this effect, the efforts of Atiku will have been rendered abortive at the end of the sitting if lines fail to fall in pleasant places for him in the ongoing ruling on the petition seeking to unseat the president.

What’s your opinion on the decision of the apex court?
