UNDERSTANDING THE IMPERATIVES OF SOLUDO’S TALENT HUNT DATABANK

By Christian ABURIME

The announcement and publication of call for expression of interest of Anambra Talent Hunt Databank signed by Dr Ben Nwankwo on behalf of the Chairperson, Anambra Transition Committee seems to have attracted some mixed feelings

The salient point to note however, is that the idea is part of Soludo’s manifesto. And it is predicated on the philosophy of not just making use of what you have, but to also give others the opportunity to showcase their skills, proficiency, competence and overall potentials that can be harnessed for a greater Anambra

While some political analysts may have argued that it is a complete departure especially in selecting people for political appointments, it is also imperative to look at the overall intended benefits for Anambra State.

It is an idea that demonstrably shows an innovative genuine mindset ready to change the status quo that could indeed usher in better results in growth and development.

Some have indeed called it a ‘disruptive’ idea bound to revolutionize public office holders cum civil servants” mentality in service delivery in the public sector. Obviously indicating that the era of indolence, care-free attitude, converting official hours for personal business and other general lukewarm attitude to work in the public service are gone forever, or at least, will not be tolerated in the in-coming government

Most political analysts have averred that the “idea” needs to be commended and supported.

And for those apparently apprehensive in losing out in political appointments, need not entertain such fears or be panic-stricken. The fact is, the call for expression of interest is a ‘blessing in disguise’ and indeed a big window of opportunity for everyone.

Soludo in a widely circulated recorded video online, had himself clarified the need for the Anambra Talent hunt database for the in-coming government

According to the Governor-elect, “the databank is going to be a platform that will offer Ndi Anambra and indeed anyone who has something important to offer Ndi Anambra in the road to building the liveable and prosperous homeland to be able to do so”

Soludo further gave reasons why it is imperative. Hear him: “If we limit the team selection for the next government, and for those who will be offering us advice and so on…to only those that I know or those who know me, then that is not up to 5 to 10 percent of people who potentially could offer Ndi Anambra great value.”

He stressed further that in this journey everybody is important. “We need everybody who has passion, capability, competence and integrity.” He posited

He also emphasised that the data bank being put together will be useful now and in the future, adding that: “We want to be ready with a team that can go to work on the first day”!

The fore-going as succinctly explained by Soludo himself, is self explanatory and should therefore douse any fear, apprehensions or misgivings from any quarter(s)!

Come March 17th 2022 let’s us join hands by bringing our talents, treasure and time to support Soludo’s government for a greater Anambra!!’
