Soludo Set to Transform Okpoko to London, Commissions Over 10km Roads, Others

It was a europhic atmosphere that engulfed the entire community, as the Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo CFR, on Monday, the 18th of March, 2024, commissioned another 15 kilometres of roads, and other projects built in Okpoko, in Ogbaru Local Government Area.

This initiative represents a substantial step towards fulfilling Gov. Soludo’s campaign promises, particularly his commitment to turning Okpoko, once labeled one of the country’s most severe urban slums, into a model of urban renewal and livability.The ceremony emphasizes the tangible outcomes of democracy in Okpoko, with over 12.5km of roads inaugurated. This development signifies a departure from the past and ushers in a new era of infrastructure and civic pride for the residents.

Gov. Soludo, addressing the gathered crowd, reaffirmed his vision for Okpoko, envisioning it as a community comparable to London. From inspecting the progress at the General Hospital to addressing congregants at St Charles Lwanga Catholic Church, Gov.
