Reason why PDP may not field any candidate in Anambra gubernatorial election.

The leadership scuffle in People Democratic Party- PDP in Anambra state, has taken another dimension as the it risks not fielding any candidate in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.

The tussle of who the legitimate chairman of the party in the state is, has been a case in the court, and the import of the recent court order in the issue entails that the party may not field any candidate in Nov 6th election.

The order, issued by Obiora Nwabunike, forbids the party from submitting any name to the Independent Electoral Commission- INEC as the legitimate standard bearer of the party, pending the decision of the court on the issue.

However, the order granted a three-day leave within which the defendants are to file their own processes and or defence to the suit.

Remember, INEC has scheduled the submission of names of partys’ standard bearers to elapse on the 9th of July. Consequently, if the judgement on the case is not not hastened and quickly delivered, PDP may have no candidate in the forthcoming coming election.
