By Ifeanyi Ezeh

Ahead of the February 3rd re-run election for Orumba North and South Federal Constituency, the Nanka community has been thrown into a state of crisis and tension following the invasion of the community by political thugs working for Mrs. Chinwe Nnabuife, who is a candidate for YPP in the election.

The YPP candidate in her desperation to win the rerun election declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to be held in only 15 polling booths of Nanka Ward 1, has been seen moving around the Nanka community with thugs from her Umunze community in a convoy of cars.

During one of her political tours in Nanka, she was reportedly boasted that she would do everything humanly possible including using thugs to overrun the Nanka community. She declared the rerun election a do-or-die affair.
Meanwhile, to match her words with actions, some thugs well armed on Monday, 30th of January invaded the Nanka community disrupting the political campaigns of one of the political parties in the election.

Consequent to this ugly development, the residents of the Nanka community who are now living in fear expressed worries that the activities of the political thugs in their once peaceful town are now becoming worrisome.

The residents are now pleading with the Anambra State Commissioner of Police to call the YPP candidate in the February 3rd rerun election to order, and as well, as bring to book perpetrators of insecurity in Nanka, restore peace and security in the community.
The residents are also pleading with the Commissioner of Police and INEC to ensure that the coming election is free and fair without rancor and breach of peace in their community.
