Since the news of the re-arrest and arraignment of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the proscribed IPOB, a pro-Biafran group, broke the internet yesterday, many insight about what could have led to what appeared to be an easy arrest of the hitherto phantom and unfathomable movement and exact location of the separatist leader at any point in time has been a burning question in the minds of many.

However, this article aims to bring together a sequence of events and broadcasts revolving around the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra IPOB, in recent time which might give insight to why it seems so easy to get to the man.

Recall that on June 16, 2021, the IPOB leader was credited to have made a broadcast in which he had claimed that he is coming home to lead the struggle. It’s to be noted that before the arrest, he was believed to be staying in London, the UK from where he calls the shots concerning the struggle. However, in that June-16 broadcast, he had stated that he was coming home.

His words “Any invading army into Biafran land must be resisted by the Biafran army. A lot of Biafrans will die, but that will be with the invading Army of Nigeria too, mind you, I will be lead that resistance myself.”

This statement of his has made many believe that he was planning on coming back to the country already and that this recent arrest is part of his game plans. However, the chain of events and the progression of his movement in the last few weeks in Africa before the arrest is coming out to the open bit by bit, with the last place alleged to have been visited by him and from where he was extradited to Nigeria has been alleged to be Kenya, however, this claim is yet to be confirmed as at the time of writing this article.
