Nnamdi Kanu gradually on way to freedom – Ezeife

Former Governor of Anambra state, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, is optimist that the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, will gradually walk out of detention, based on the outcome of Friday’s proceedings in Abuja High court.

WITHIN NIGERIA had reported that Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday struck out eight of the 15 counts charges bordering on terrorism and treasonable felony against Kanu.

The Nigerian government had filed the 15-count charges  after Kanu was repatriated from Kenya to Nigeria to continue his trial.

Speaking with Vanguard in a telephone chat on Friday, Ezeife said; “if Kanu was standing trial on a 15-counts charge and eight of the charge were struck out for lack of merit, do you think the rest of the charges can stand the test of time? Of course not”.

Ezeife urged those he described as lovers of freedom to remain calm and allow justice to run its natural course as it concerned Kanu’s trial.
