JUST IN: Reactions as Juventus Midfielder, Paul Pogba Faces Ban From Football

Juventus star and French international Paul Pogba has been handed a four-year suspension from all football activities.

This decision comes from Italy’s anti-doping authority following Pogba’s positive test for testosterone in August of the previous year.

Juventus, the club at which Pogba plies his trade, confirmed receiving the tribunal’s verdict.

A representative for Juventus disclosed to the media that the club was informed of the tribunal’s decision on Thursday.
The specifics of the ban were a result of Pogba testing positive for testosterone after Juventus’s match against Udinese on August 20, where he did not play.

Following the initial test, a subsequent analysis of a B sample also indicated the presence of testosterone, leading to Pogba’s provisional suspension since September.

The decision comes after anti-doping prosecutors recommended a four-year suspension for the 30-year-old midfielder, who has been a pivotal figure in football, boasting a World Cup winner’s medal with France.

Consequently, the news has sent shockwaves through the football community, highlighting the stringent anti-doping regulations in place within the sport.

Pogba’s team has responded to the allegations, stating that the detected testosterone originated from a dietary supplement prescribed by a doctor in the United States, whom Pogba had consulted.
Also, the situation puts a considerable dent in the player’s illustrious career, sidelining him from professional football until further notice
