In the face of the growing uncertainties in the southeast region of Nigeria, a former governor of the old Anambra State Elder Mbazulike Amechi called on Igbo leaders to engage the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, and not kill them.

Elder Mbazulike Amechi made the call following the alleged plots by the federal government to fuel the extra-judicial killings of prominent Igbos and lay the accusations against the IPOB in other to make Igbos fight the group.

He alleged that Nigerian government has plans to set Igbos up against the IPOB, which is the only way to defeat the group.

Consequently, Elder Amechi said that if the government succeeds in making Igbos fight Nnamdi Kunu and IPOB, Igbos will forever be slaves in Nigeria.

Amechi further maintained that it took Igbos 50 years after the civil war for someone like Nnamdi Kunu to have the courage to challenge Nigeria, which no one ever did, saying that attempts by Igbos to be persuaded to fighting IPOB would cause them freedom forever.

” Nigerian government knows that the only way to defeat IPOB is by setting them up against Igbos. Many prominent Igbos will be assassinated by the federal government agents, so that Igbos will accuse and fight IPOB”.

” If they succeed in making Igbos fight Nnamdi Kunu and IPOB, Igbos will forever be slaves in Nigeria”.

” It took 50 years after the civil war for someone like Nnamdi Kunu to have the courage to challenge Nigeria, which no one ever did. If Igbos fight and kill IPOB, do you think another Igbo man will have the courage to speak up against marginalization?
Igbo leaders should engage IPOB and not kill them”.
Elder Mbazulike Amechi said.
