IPOB: Details as Supreme Court Finally Releases CTC of Kanu’s Judgment

The Supreme Court of Nigeria has finally released the Certified True Copy, CTC, of its judgment on the case involving the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, and the Nigerian government.

The development is barely five weeks after the apex court decided on the matter which it refused to affirm earlier court judgments ordering Kanu’s unconditional release.

It rather ordered that the IPOB Leader be arraigned at the High Court to face a charge of treason.

It would be recalled that Nnamdi Kanu’s legal team has upon the position of the Supreme Court at the last outing that quashed the decision of the lower courts of competent jurisdiction on the case been hinting at the delay tactics and other antics employed by the Nigeria government over the release of the CTC.

Kanu’s younger brother, Prince Emmanuel Kanu who disclosed in an exclusive chat with Vanguard on Monday night, hailed the Supreme Court for the release.

He said the Supreme Court had done well by heeding appeals by the family and Kanu’s legal team to release the CTC to enable them to take the next move to get justice for the IPOB Leader.

The family had earlier cried foul over the reluctance of the Supreme Court to release the CTC of the judgment, lamenting that it was stalling further legal actions towards securing Kanu’s release.
