Tensions intensify in the South East region of Nigeria following the arrest of a popular Nollywood actor Chiwetalu Agu by the Nigeria soldiers.

The arrest which took place at Upper Iweka, Onitsha, Anambra state on Thursday afternoon was allegedly carried out by the Nigeria soldiers against the actor who was said to have appeared in outfits of Biafra insignia.

Sources revealed that he was distributing foods to the less privileged at the spot when the soldiers manhandled, arrested and took him to the barracks.

Meanwhile, it could be recalled that the Nollywood actor in the middle of the past month had appeared in public putting on the same outfits.

Consequently, the action which endeared to himself a euphoric attention was in a long way a trending story that kept social media awash.

A video making round the social media today spotted the veteran actor being bullied by the Nigeria soldiers.

Also on the clip was how Chiwetalu Agu was followed by the soldiers to a dark blue bus with an inscription, ‘ Chiwetalu Agu Films’ bullied and bundled him away.

Although, the trigger of the arrest has not been officially ascertained, the growing cases of unrest in the state of Anambra which the Federal Government allegedly attributed to the activities of the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, could be linked to the woes being experienced by the Nollywood actor.

Recall that the Presidency in the week said that a state of emergency is eminent as a result of the ongoing security challenges in Anambra state.
