Breaking: Peter Obi Names VP Few Hours To INEC deadline.

The candidate of the Labour Party, a former governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi, has just named a possible Vice Presidential Candidate to join him for his 2023 election.

Recall that Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC had given all political parties up till the end of today 17th June, 2022 to name their various Vice Presidential candidates to join the tickets of their respective party flag bearers.

However, information reaching news agencies is that Mr. Peter Obi named Doyin Okupe, a former presidential aspirant of the Labour Party and current national leader of the party as his prospective Vice. Nevertheless, it’s understood that he named him as his VP in order to beat the INEC deadline while consultations continues to select a more acceptable candidate for the position putting the ethnic and religious dimensions of the country and other issues and criteria into consideration. It’s constitutional to change a VP candidate before the election proper when and if need be.
