Anambra Elders Stakeholder’s Forum is an apolitical organisation formed with the vision to be the voice of the voiceless masses and to be the umbrella under which pressure groups, religious organisations and other interest groups are fostered and galvanized to cross-fertilize ideas for the infusion of democratic principles in Anambra political sphere. Its ideology is hinged upon ensuring that the candidates occupying political positions are ones whom the people of the state have found worthy for such position, thereby purging the state’s political space of the traces of godfatherism, ‘money politics, religious insignia, unhealthy imposition of candidates, unscrupulous rigging, as well as fiddling with election results.

The forum has under it, traditional and religious heads, including the heads of pressure groups and interest groups within the state.

In a meeting held on Saturday, 26th June 2021, it issued a communique press and a copy forwarded to De Erudite Communications, which was duly signed by its convener, Chief Dr. Raphs Okey Nwosu (Ikolo Awka). It states as follows:

  1. That Anambra stakeholders forum is a socio-political group that seeks to restore the lost glory of our dear state by ensuring the emergence of credible leadership in the state.
  2. That it strongly abhors the imposition of candidates by a person or groups on the people of the state, consequently giving room for the will of the people to prevail.
  3. That it calls on the political parties in the state as well as party delegates to ensure transparent, credible and peaceful primaries.
  4. That it calls on the Chief security officer of the state, Gov. Willie M. Obiano to rise to the occasion of the security challenges in the state.
  5. That for the sustenance of equity and fair representation, Anambra political parties should uphold the principle of zoning, which is currently extant in the state.
  6. That political parties are enjoined to ensure they follow electoral guidelines while producing candidates.
  7. That they call on the parties to uphold the fundamental human rights in their dealings.
  8. That they enjoin religious and traditional heads to join hands together to forestall actions that will lead to the destruction of the state.
