Uncertainty As Osimhen’s ‘Feud’ With Napoli Escalates

The future of Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen with Italian giant, Napoli is allegedly hanging on a like a simple pendulum following the unprecedented clampdown on the player
is currently bogged down in an apparent spat with the Serie A giants over a video of him that the club shared on social media.

According to Sportbible, citing football transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano, Napoli posted and later deleted a mocking video of the striker’s penalty miss from their weekend clash against Bologna.

The Italian club won a penalty in the 72nd minute of the tie, with Osimhen stepping up to take it. However, the Super Eagles star failed to convert the spot kick as the match ended in a goalless draw.

Napoli’s decision to mock the striker for the penalty miss on their official TikTok account is understood to have left him disappointed, with his agent, Roberto Calenda threatening to take legal action.

Osimhen ‘ignores’ his teammates
A video has now surfaced in the wake of the reported feud, showing Osimhen appearing to snub his teammates.

The short clip shared on X (formerly Twitter) showed the former Lille star walking past his teammates without saying a word, with one even stretching his arm for a handshake or high-five.

However, Osimhen, who was clad in Napoli’s kit, shook hands with a yet-to-be-identified man and ignored his teammates, including Diogo Demme and Piotr Zielinski.

The 24-year-old was impressive for the Neapolitan outfit last season, with his goal-scoring prowess helping the club lift the Serie A title for the first time in around 30 years.

Earlier, Sports Brief also reported Osimhen could face a fine from Napoli after he clashed with his manager after being substituted off against Bologna on September 24.

The Neapolitans’ slow start to the new Serie A season continued after a goalless draw away from home and the Nigerian missed a penalty shot that could have won it.
