The personal assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on new media, Bashir Ahmad has predicted long days and sleepless nights ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The presidential aide stated this in his reaction to the 2023 election timetable released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday. As earlier reported by Naija News, INEC has announced new dates for the conduct of the 2023 general elections in Nigeria. INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu who announced the change during a press conference in Abuja on Saturday said the new dates became necessary as a result of the 2022 amended electoral act recently signed by President Muhammadu Buhari. Naija News reports according to what the INEC Chairman said that the Presidential and National Assembly elections will now hold on Saturday, February 25, 2023, instead of the earlier announced February 18 date. Also, the governorship and state houses of assembly elections will hold on March 11, 2023. The electoral umpire also announced other dates that will guide the several activities leading to the conduct of the 2023 general elections. Reacting, Ahmad on Saturday evening took to his Twitter account where he predicted many long days and sleepless nights ahead and prayed for good health and strength. He wrote: “The timetable for the 2023 general elections is out, long days and sleepless nights ahead. May Almighty Allah grant us good health, great energy and protect us throughout the process and may we also come out victorious in the end. Ameen!”
