“IWA JI EZE NAWFIA 2021” : See how I’ve Moguluwa brought peace to Nawfia.

The Igwe of Nawfia HRH Igwe Sir Dr. Shedrack Chinwuba Moguluwa (Eze Nawfia, Okpalariam) yesterday 24th September, 2021, performed his first Royal celebration of the new yam festival tagged “Iwa ji Eze Nawfia 2021” a highly significant traditional ceremony which heralds the celebration of the new yam by all Nawfia people.

Eze Nawfia used the event to declare Royal blessings on Nawfia Town and her people, calling for peace, brotherhood and togetherness which are key ingredients needed for the restoration of Nawfia Town to the “Pace setter” status that her people had always been known for. He went on in his declarations of blessings on Nawfia Town, to pray for more blessings and prosperity on all Nawfia people.

HRH Eze Nawfia thanked God Almighty for His mercies and numerous blessings on Nawfia Town, especially on the recent restoration of the Chairman Board of Trustees of Nawfia Town: Sir Barr. B.E.I Nwofor SAN., KSP., D.M.D., D.C.F (Idejuogwugwu, Okwuluora Nawfia), to his distinguished rank of “Senior Advocate of Nigeria”. He went on to appreciate and commend all Nawfia philanthropists, and called on them to continue to support the development of Nawfia Town. Eze Nawfia made special mention of Chief Donatus Obelle (Onwa Nawfia na Umunri, MD/CEO Donclimax Group), who recently donated a security Hilux vehicle to the Nawfia Central Vigilante services, describing it as a welcome development.

The very colourful event which was commenced by a brief service, worship and a very powerful sermon anchored by our own Rev’d Chimdiebele Enukora-Nwobi (Ike Nawfia na Umunri), and was graced by His Royal Majesty Igwe Sir Ralph Obumnemeh Ekpeh (Eze Enugwu-Ukwu na Igwe Umunri), who though currently out of the country, sent in a high powered delegation led by Chief Sir C.N.C Nwafor (Odu Nkata Ukwu Enugwu-Ukwu na Umunri, the Deputy Traditional Prime Minister of Enugwu-Ukwu town), Ozonkpu Frank Nwokike (Ugogbuzuo Enugwu-Ukwu na Umunri, Secretary to the Cabinet of Eze Enugwu-Ukwu na Igwe Umunri), and a host of other eminent personalities from Enugwu-Ukwu town.

Eze Nawfia received the communication of very warm felicitations, best wishes and solidarity from a host of his co Monarchs such as: His Royal Majesty Igwe Peter Anugwu OFR (Ezeukwu Mbaukwu), HRH Igwe Rowland Odegbo (Aborgu Nteje), His Royal Highness Igwe Kenneth Orizu III (Igwe Nnewi) and a host of other Royal Highnesses.

Highlights of the event included the arrival of Eze Nawfia to the arena which was heralded by traditional gunshots, the dance of the Uvie Royal music by Eze Nawfia, the performance of Kola Protocol by the Eze Nawfia, the presentation of gifts to Eze Nawfia by the Prestigious Nze na Ozo Society of Nawfia Town led by Ozonkpu Frank Ekweozor, the Eze Enugwu-Ukwu na Igwe Umunri and his eminent delegation, the Nawfia Progressive Union, Eze Nawfia’s Old boys Association, Sir Nonyelu Okoye (The President General Emeritus of Nawfia Town), and ultimately, the Cutting of the new yam by HRH Eze Nawfia, which was equally heralded by traditional gunshots, wherein he pronounced monumental blessings on Nawfia Town and all her people.

The eminent personalities who were also present at the highly significant and colourful event included all members of the National Executive Committee of the Nawfia Progressive Union( N.P.U) ably led by the President General Sir Nathan Enemuo and the Secretary General Comrd Tony Obiesili.

The event was indeed a huge success, and a day that shall go down in history books of our dear Nawfia town as “Spectacular!”.
