Actors Guild of Nigeria Reacts to Death Rumours of Veteran, Zack Orji

In a world increasingly dominated by the rapid spread of information—and misinformation—via social media, the power of a rumor can be alarmingly strong.

This was made evident recently when whispers of the alleged death of veteran actor, Zack Orji circulated online, sparking concern and grief among fans. However, these reports have been firmly debunked by the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN), putting an end to the disturbing rumors.

Emeka Rollas, the President of the AGN, has categorically denied the claims about Orji’s passing. Addressing the situation, Rollas urged the public to disregard the unfounded rumors, attributing them to the handiwork of individuals he described as mischief makers. “Mr. Zack Orji is very much alive,” he asserted, emphasizing the need to ignore the malicious rumors. Rollas condemned the act of spreading such false information, labeling it as both cruel and utterly unacceptable.

The false alarm about Zack Orji came just days after the entertainment industry mourned the loss of Amaechi Muonagor, a beloved actor who succumbed to kidney failure. This juxtaposition of events has highlighted not only the fragility of life but also the dark side of social media, where false news can spread unchecked.

Rollas expressed his dismay at the situation, noting how such rumors can be particularly harmful. “It’s a clear demonstration of the extent to which some can go in their cruelty,” he remarked. He further assured fans that Orji remains unaffected by these baseless claims and will continue to thrive and share his talents.
