Mr. Peter Obi who is challenging the outcome of the 2023 presidential election, had accused INEC of not granting them access to materials used for the election despite a court order asking them to do so.
The development is coming in the wake of reports that the state chapter of the LP has collapsed its structure to endorse the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate, Sim Fubara.
“He, Keyamo first started with emotional blackmail, he said one who cannot handle defeat does not deserve victory. To this, he told Obi to play the “hero” like GEJ, and call Tinubu to congratulate him so that peace will reign.” Fr. Ugwu said.
Dr. Datti-Baba Ahmed listed the names of the politicians who are begging for the support and votes of the people ahead of the governorship and House of Assembly polls.
“As we look forward to an encounter with both the PDP and LP at the court, we want to enjoin the two of them to pursue their grievances with decorum.”
In a file dated 3rd March 2023, Mr. Peter Obi of the Labour Party is challenging the result of the election by the INEC.
“We are ready to have a dialogue with him. I don’t think we will have any problem if he wants to have a dialogue with PDP either to form an alliance or not.”
“The election that we just witnessed has been conducted and results announced as programmed. It is a clear violation of the electoral rules and guidelines as we were promised.
The party’s national chairman Julius Abure also decries the violence meted out on the Labour Party supporters.
His withdrawal of support for Peter Obi is the sequel to the collapse of the LP structure into that of the APC.
This is happening a few days before the February 25th, 2023 general elections
Ortom, who spoke at a Town Hall meeting in Makurdi the State capital over the weekend said the 2023 election should not be based on party, stating that all the political parties in the country had failed Nigerians.
“I want to state very clearly that after the presidential primary, I chose to remain in PDP as a leader and responsible citizen of Nigeria who should indeed place Nigeria over and above my interest. I must confess that this decision was reinforced by my experience working with (former) President Goodluck Jonathan.” He said.
“On the issue of Peter Obi, Labour Party presidential candidate, I am to say that I was in the PDP presidential primary, Peter Obi and others and at some point, all of us from the South-East met and resolved to work together, to ensure the zoning of the presidential position to the South-East and that whoever among us that got the ticket should be supported by the others. But when the zoning failed…”
While debunking the claims some weeks ago, she described Obi as her leader and elder brother from Anambra Central whom she respects and holds in high esteem.
“The Obidients are beginning to see the importance of structure. The structure is not something out of this world, it is a needed requirement,” he added.
Recall that on January 21, the governorship candidate staged a boycott of the party’s presidential rally held in Kano.
“Nothing can stop a movement whose time has come . Security operatives, take note. We keep moving ‘Obidiently and Yusfully.’ He said.
“I have read with bemusement many of the polls about the forthcoming presidential election on February 25, 2023, and have concluded that the elitist polls have failed monumentally due to the over-reliance on technology in a largely illiterate population.” He said.
He has, therefore, appealed to the Inspector General Of Police to intervene by investigating the matter to avert tragedy.
