In the case of Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State Zam was his Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs until the governor defected to the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in 2018.
Senator Sani commented while portraying the various photos of the five aggrieved governors in their uniform regalia.
The move is said to be geared toward containing the various excesses of some aggrieved party members and also to serve as a deterrent to the potential others after the elections.
“On the issue of Peter Obi, Labour Party presidential candidate, I am to say that I was in the PDP presidential primary, Peter Obi and others and at some point, all of us from the South-East met and resolved to work together, to ensure the zoning of the presidential position to the South-East and that whoever among us that got the ticket should be supported by the others. But when the zoning failed…”
He made this statement following the news of the party’s five aggrieved governors popularly known as the G5 trip to London.
If Atiku/Okowa candidature cannot unify the PDP, by what measure does one entitle it as a Unifier, having destroyed the zoning mantra between the North and the South?
“Others at the meeting are former governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, former Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayo Fayose, former Cross River State Governor, Mr. Donald Duke, former Plateau State Governor, Mr. Jonah Jang and former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP, Chief Bode George.”
