IFEANYI ANIAGOH: THE TRUTH NEVER TOLD.

Before I met Hon. Ifeanyi Aniagoh in person, I had already formed an impression about him prevaricate upon many negative words churned out to describe him on the social media walls of those whom I had thought knew him. I had accepted in my mind that must be an incorrigible braggadocio, an unrepentant haughty fellow, a cunning man and one whose mind was imbued with perfidy.

So, when on February 25, 2021 during the Anambra Online Stakeholders Meeting- an event which he organized- I met him, I was keenly looking for something to reinforce my belief or something that will give reasons to hold onto my perception about him.

But I was disappointed. And instead, I saw a man whose personality was a far cry from what was described on social media walls. In him I saw a progressive-minded individual, a self-effacing young man, an astute entrepreneur and an absolute gem.

Certainly, I wasn’t the only one who felt that way on that day, as the confessions from some of the participants revealed the frame of their mind. Those who had their way around words described him in words more suiting than I can ever do.

Hon Aniagoh joined APGA a long time ago, and has contributed his best possible to the growth and development of the party.

When the immediate past governor of Anambra state, HE, Chief Willie Obiano, came into power, he was appointed the Executive Assistant to the governor on the media. His records led to his later appointment as the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Social media. During that period, he exhibited untrammeled and unparalleled expertise in using the media, especially the social media to drive immeasurable development.

He was subsequently appointed the Director General of Digital Entrepreneurship. His unmatched performance while heading the ministry earned him the appellation: “DigiPriest”.

In the buildup to the 2021 governorship election, Aniagoh became very famous for his mantra: “APGA first.” These words were very constant on his Facebook page. They were also engraved on his shirts and caps.

His reason for that phrase was not far-fetched. He had coined it to maintain that the integrity and foundation of the party must be retained in the midst of the various internal crisis which rocked the party. This he did out of great love and concern for the party which he has served for a lot years. According to him, the phrase wasn’t coined then. It had been coined some years before. However, that period seemed to be the most appropriate period to give life to it. Of course, it’s not a debate whether that helped to save APGA from drowning into the abyss.

Over the years, Aniagoh has been an emblem of outstanding philanthropy. His platforms have been used to reach out to the indigents and have nots. Few months ago, during the Christmas period, he assembled the indigents, party men and women from within and beyond his constituency, and gifted them with bags of rice and other food ingredients to help make their Christmas a memorable one.

In this material time when Gov. Soludo is in need of capable hands which will aid him fulfill his campaign promises to the citizens, Aniagoh has declared interest to represent his constituency (Umuowelle) in the state House Of Assembly- a position which for which he is eminently qualified.

Having served the party meritoriously and commendably for a good number of years, it is expected that the party will give him firm support as he hopes to advance his political career.

While all eyes are on the party to do the needful, those for whom he has decided to jump into the ring are also expected to embrace the eagle for it’s not often that it is seen.
