Friends Mourn World Bank Staff, Mother of Two Boys Crushed To Death With A Car By Her Husband.

In a strange occurrence that happened last week in Abuja, a World Bank Staff was crushed to death with a car by her husband.
Nigerians are mourning the death of a woman who was allegedly crushed to death by her enraged husband while attempting to stop him from leaving the compound with her phone. According to SaharaReporters, Makanjuola Ayedun, a husband from Isanlu community in Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State, killed his wife, Mrs Nike Ayedun, with his car on Friday, May 14, 2021, around 10 p.m. in Gwagwalada area of Abuja.
De Erudite Media gathered that while reversing his car, Ayedun allegedly knocked down his wife, Nike Ayadun, a staff member of the World Bank office in Asokoro, Abuja. It was discovered that the car crossed an unpaved road and crashed into a building afterwards, destroying some items due to the speed with which he reversed.
According to witnesses, when Ayedun realised he had killed his wife, he allegedly attempted to flee, blaming the incident on brake failure. However, a source told SaharaReporters that it was not an accident. According to the source, the man had always physically abused his wife. “The whole issue started when Nike discovered that her husband had broken the safe box she had gotten for the purpose of saving money for her son, who demanded a huge birthday party,” the source had said, according to the publication. The report further continued, “She had however confronted him about it after that. That’s when her husband began abusing her.
“After thrashing her in the house, he took her phone and confiscated it, preventing her from making any calls.” While coming down to open the gate, the man went outside and started his car. Nike dashed to the gate, yelling for her phone.
“The man knocked her down with full force while reversing the car before she knew what was happening,” the source said, adding that the husband has prior to the incident threatened to crush and kill her.
