UTME 2024: All You Need to Know about Registration Procedures, Fees, Others—JAMB

Candidates of the University Tertiary Matriculation Examination UTME 2024 are expected to be updated on the registration and examination procedures to be able to attain their various goals toward securing admission into various higher institutions in Nigeria.

This is as JAMB releases instructions for the exercise which has been officially scheduled to commence on the 14th of January, 2024. Therefore, to be able to navigate through the entire process, the information below will be of great assistance.

Six (6) Things That You Must Get Ready Before JAMB Registration

1. National Identification Number (NIN): You must have a valid NIN. It is a unique number that identifies you as a Nigerian citizen and is necessary for all JAMB candidates.
2. Biodata: these are your details and include your full name, date of birth, email address, phone number, and home address. Registration. These details should match the information on your NIN.
3. O’Level results: these include WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, IJMB, JUPEB, or any result that’s necessary either as a UTME or DE applicant. For those who have none yet, no problem – you can indicate as an awaiting result candidate.
4. Choice of institution and course: you should already have an idea of the institution you want to attend, and the course you want to study before registering for JAMB. Your course will determine the subject combination you will select during the registration process.
5. Subject Combination: this comprises four subjects you’ll sit for during the exam, of which the Use of English is compulsory. Subject Combination is determined by the course you want to study. 6. Registration fee: You will need to pay a non-refundable registration fee to complete your JAMB registration. For 2024, keep a minimum of #8,000 for your JAMB registration.

What is the JAMB E-pin?

Many candidates still inquire about the JAMB Epin. That’s why we endeavored to come up with all you should know about it.

Therefore, the JAMB E-pin is a unique number (usually a 15-digit number) issued to all UTME candidates upon payment of their JAMB registration fees.

This number enables the candidates to carry out registration on the JAMB Portal.

Also, note that the JAMB Epin is not the same as your JAMB profile code. The JAMB profile code is what will be used to generate your JAMB Epin. This means without your JAMB profile code, you can’t get your JAMB Epin.

This is to also say that if you’ve not gotten your profile code by now, it means you are not ready for this year’s JAMB registration.

Just to clarify things better. The profile code does not change. This means even if you registered for JAMB 10 years ago, you will be using the same profile code. However, the JAMB Epin changes every year. This means if you wrote JAMB last year, you will still have to purchase another JAMB Epin this year.

Below are the Instructions and Timeline of Events For 2024 UTME/DE Registration.

✅Selling Of JAMB E-pins For UTME Registration Begins January 8th, 2024, And Ends February 24th, 2024.

✅ UTME Registration Begins January 15th And Ends February 26th, 2024.

✅Direct Entry e-PIN Vending And Registration Begins February 28th, 2024 And Ends March 28th, 2024.

At the point of purchase of the E-pin, candidates are to specify the type of E-pin they need depending on whether they’re UTME (Mock or no mock) or DE candidates. This is because there will be no refund would be made after payment.
