Lai Mohammed had, in a press statement, accused Mr. Peter Obi and his vice, Sen. Baba Datti-Ahmed, of inciting the citizens to revolt against the announcement of Sen. Ahmed Bola Tinubu as the President-elect, which according to the Minister is a treasonable offense.
This was disclosed by the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed during engagements with journalists in Washington DC in the United States.
Although the Labour Party, LP, the presidential candidate was declared the second runner-up in the February 25 poll, Obi was arguably the most popular, despite running against veterans with age-long ambition.
The group also condemned the various onslaught of attacks on non-indigenous residents in Lagos State and other parts of Yoruba Land, while calling on the threat mongers to immediately desist from such a dastardly action.
Mr. Obi described the gesture as a reflection of the Labour Party’s responsiveness to the yearnings of Nigerians.
Mr. Obi in a message to supporters and Nigerians in the diaspora described the OBIdients as the arrowhead in the take-back Nigeria mission.
He said, “As a consequence of the events of the last few days I am constrained to say that, the Nigerian opposition, represented by the followers of Atiku Abubakar (Atikulators) and the followers of Peter Obi (Obidients), have lost control of their senses.”
The ruling by a three-man panel of the court, led by Justice Joseph Ikyegh, followed separate motions ex-parte filed by Abubakar and Obi before the court.

Mr. Obi also alleged that Mr. Tinubu failed to win the majority of the lawful votes cast in the election, and just as he could not secure one-quarter of the lawful votes cast in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
The Labour Party’s Legal Team was at the INEC HQ to discuss modalities for obtaining the documents.

The legal tussle is about to kick off as the various parties including the ruling All Progressives Congress APC’s candidate and President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the People’s Democratic Party PDP’s Atiku, and Mr. Peter Obi of the Labour Party have hired several Senior Advocates of Nigeria SAN for the post-election battle.
