N25m Imo Guber Ticket: Peter Obi Reacts As Labour Party Heeds Advise, Slashes Nomination Fee

The Labour Party presidential candidate for the February 25th, 2023 general election, Mr. Peter Obi has applauded the National Chairman of the party, Barr. Julius Abure, and the NWC for heeding his appeal, and reviewing the nomination fee for the governorship form downwards to N15m.

Mr. Obi described the gesture as a reflection of the Labour Party’s responsiveness to the yearnings of Nigerians.

Recall that ahead of the Imo State governorship election, the Labour Party has earlier pegged its nomination form at N25 million, which has triggered a series of negative reactions from the concerned citizens of Nigeria in the diaspora.

Meanwhile, in a proactive response to the development, the party has adjusted the nomination fee downward to make it easier and more affordable for interested aspirants.

Mr. Peter Obi said;
“I thank the National Chairman of the Labour Party, Barr. Julius Abure, and the NWC for heeding to my appeal, and reviewing the nomination fee for the governorship form downwards to N15m.

“I applaud them for also ag, to refund the cost of the form to the family of a deceased aspirant Chief Humphrey Anthe mud from Imo State; and also agreeing to refund N10m to each of those that had paid.

“These gestures, reflect Labour Party’s responsiveness to the yearnings of Nigerians.”
