The Federal High Court in Awka, Anambra state has barred All Progressive Congress and the supposed winner of the Party’s primary, Senator Andy Ubah, from submitting the laters name to Independent Electoral Commission-INEC, as the Party’s standard bearer in the Nov 6th gubernatorial election.

DeErudite media gathered that suit which was filed by Comrade Maxwell Okoye was read before Hon. Justice H. A Njanjiwa who ordered the 1st respondent-APC and the 3rd respondent-INEC to maintain status quo in the interest of Justice and must not publish, accept or cause to or admit the 2nd respondent- Senator Andy Ubah as the candidate of APC in Anambra gubernatorial election until the substantial suit is heard.

Recall that APC allegedly conducted primary election on June 26, 2021, which purportedly produced Senator Andy Ubah as the winner. The result was announced by the governor of Oyo state, Dapo Abiodun.

However, shortly after the results were announced, the state leadership of the party released a statement in which they rejected the results, stating that no primary was held anywhere in the state.

To address the series of internal dissension the controversy heralded, the national leadership of the party set up a committee to look into the matter.

According to reports, the committee upheld the candidacy of Senator Andy Ubah as the party’s standard bearer in the election.
