De Erudite Media earlier reported that operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, on Wednesday, allegedly arrested Ajaero in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
“Approximately 10,000 pensioners have been wrongly labeled as ghost pensioners resulting in over 22 months of unpaid pensions while about 11,000 workers have been branded by the Imo State Government as ghost workers.” He revealed.
Recall that the labour unions had vowed to enforce an indefinite nationwide strike action from October 3, following the Federal Government’s failure to address the economic hardship that Nigerians are currently facing owing to its unplanned removal of fuel subsidy.

The government set up a committee to liaise with organized labour, but officials of the Trade Union Congress and the NLC though said the committee had failed to engage labour in a dialogue.
Monday’s meeting was the fourth in a series of negotiations between the FG and organized labour since the discontinuance of petroleum subsidy, as announced by President Bola Tinubu on May 29, 2023.
This was as the Trade Union Congress said it was expecting the Federal Government to provide feedback on its demand for N200,000 minimum wage by June 19.
Recall that on Monday, during his inaugural speech at Eagle Square in Abuja, the President, Bola Tinubu declared that the era of subsidy payment on fuel has ended.
He described the trend as a worldwide phenomenon caused by global economic shocks, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war.
