Sit-at-home: Message to Igbo People As Senator Ubah Meets Kanu, Discuss Ways Forward

Following the perpetual detention of the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu the custody of the Department of State Service, DSS, and the inhumane activities of the opportunists in the Southeast region of Nigeria, some concerned citizens have risen towards finding a lasting solution to the issues.

It’s in a deliberate bid to end the long-term demonstration of Monday Sit-at-home in solidarity with Kanu who despite the different rulings in his favour by Courts of competent jurisdictions has been kept in solitary confinement at the DSS headquarters in Abuja, that the Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah visited Mazi Kanu.

In a ten minutes clip explaining the essence of the visit, Senator Ubah affirmed that the current security situation in the Southeast has become a major concern to every right-thinking person from the region, adding that Ndi Igbo should the unbridled demonstration. Ubah along with HRM, Eze Akajiovo Igbo Nile, and Chief Vin Onyeka delivered a crucial message to the Igbo people warning that the continuous Monday’s Sit-at-home would do more harm than good to the entire region.

In his words, I visited Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in the custody of the DSS, to discuss the situation of our people in Southeast concerning the issue of Monday Sit-at-home and other issues of concern.

“Kanu has asked me to tell all the Igbo people to start doing their business every Monday, saying that those who enforce the continuous Monday Sit-at-home are the saboteurs who use the avenue as an opportunity to unleash terror attacks and cripple the economy of our people. They are not working for the interest of the people in any way.”

“He, therefore, warned that anyone who is involved in subjecting the people to suffering and hardships through the unauthorized sit-at-home shall be made to account for their deeds in due course.”

Mazi Kanu also urged the Igbo people to pray and be resolute that everything will be fine soon while calling for absolute peace and security in the entire Southeast region”
