BREAKING: Russia Launches Fresh Missiles, Drones Attack Overnight on Ukraine

Russia has launched a combined aerial attack on Ukraine, deploying over 40 missiles and 40 drones in a single night, targeting cities and critical infrastructure across the country.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported the attack, highlighting the significant strain on the nation’s defenses and infrastructure.

This offensive saw Kharkiv, Ukraine’s northeastern city, once again facing the brunt of the aggression. Despite the ongoing efforts to shield urban centers and key facilities, some of the Russian missiles and drones breached Ukraine’s air defenses, causing damage and disruptions, particularly to the country’s energy network.

Zelensky urgently appealed to international allies for increased support in bolstering Ukraine’s air defense capabilities, indicating the severe impact of these assaults on civilian life and the country’s resilience against the ongoing Russian invasion.

The Ukrainian Interior Minister, Igor Klymenko, noted the mobilization of hundreds of emergency response personnel across the nation, tackling the aftermath of the attacks that spanned five regions and primarily aimed at crippling Ukraine’s critical infrastructure. Despite the extensive damage, there were no immediate reports of casualties, offering a grim silver lining to the night’s events.

In Kharkiv, the onslaught led to widespread power outages, while in the Zaporizhzhia region, authorities reported explosions that echoed the intensity of the attack. The Lviv region witnessed targeted strikes on a gas distribution station and an electric substation, prompting quick action from firefighting teams to mitigate the damage.

Contrastingly, Russia claimed to have neutralized 12 Ukrainian drones targeting its territory, suggesting a continuous exchange of aerial attacks between the two nations.
