BREAKING: Israeli Prime Minister, Netanyahu to Undergo Hernia Surgery

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to be put under full sedation for a hernia surgery scheduled for Sunday night.

This announcement follows a routine medical checkup on Saturday night during which the hernia was discovered. The surgery comes at a critical time, just after Netanyahu’s participation in a war cabinet meeting scheduled for Sunday evening.

During Netanyahu’s surgery, Justice Minister Yariv Levin, who also holds the title of deputy prime minister, will temporarily assume Netanyahu’s duties, ensuring that the leadership of the country remains uninterrupted.

This health issue emerges amidst a backdrop of political tension, highlighted by Netanyahu’s recent cancellation of a planned trip to Washington. This cancellation was a protest against a United Nations Security Council resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan—the first such call to halt the ongoing conflict.

Netanyahu criticized the United States for allowing the resolution to pass, particularly for not making the ceasefire conditional upon the release of hostages held by Hamas.
