Again, Soludo Drags Peter Obi in Public Place, Triggers Mixed Reactions

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo CFR, could not afford to ignore one of the Governors Emeritus, whose milestone achievements stand the test of time in the history of the State’s leadership, His Excellency, Peter Obi, as they both met again at an event in the weekend.

The trends that triggered wrangling among the loyalists of Soludo and Obi occurred at the burial ceremony of the late Chief Anayo Nnebe, whom the duo among others converged to bid a final farewell in his country home.

Meanwhile, it was alleged that Governor Soludo is fond of causing a rift between his disciples and the ObiDients who usually perceive his comments about Obi as a jab against their political goals in the country.

Their perception draws credence to the circumstances surrounding the past presidential election in Nigeria, where political interest formed the core of the two brothers’ gospel and campaigns. Ever since then, Soludo has not said anything about Obi that failed to raise dust among their supporters.

The latest “jabs” were said to have another weight on the erstwhile who was from the basis of Soludo’s comments, described severally for not sitting on the front seats at most occasions as such that he honours.
It was however, after the church service presided over by the Anglican Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Revd. Alexander Ibezim Ph.D that Soludo was called to speak. As usual, during such auspicious speech, the Governor was observing the protocol of people who attended the church service, when he stumbled to specially acknowledge the presence of one of his predecessors, Mr. Peter Obi who was seated at the back.

Soludo welcomed and asked Obi to always come early so that he would sit in the front instead of the back.

It is observed that HE Peter Obi on most occasions sits at the back, which some people including Governor Soludo find unnecessary, with regards to Obi’s personality and roles in society.

Reacting, several commentators query the relationship between Soludo’s comments and HE Peter Obi’s attitude at the occasion.

Consequently, the Prof is said to have again given the social media warriors a fight to wage and a battle to fight, while the two brothers go on with their daily activities peacefully.
