Latest Political News In Nigeria For Today, Friday, 29th April, 2022

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Adamu, on Saturday spoke on aspirants vying for political positions dumping the party ahead of the 2023 general race.

According to Adamu, no aspirants will exit the ruling party if they fail in their bid to pick the ticket of the party. Adamu stated this while addressing a group of party members in the diaspora at a global virtual town hall session. There are speculations that the national leader of the party who is also a presidential aspirant under the party, Bola Tinubu may dump the party for the Social Democratic Party (SDP) if the primaries scheme against him. Adamu, who was represented at the town-hall session by one of his Special Assistants, Prof. Abdullahi Yau, said, “Directly I want to tell you that after the primaries, non of the contestants or aspirants will leave the party. You can see unlike the other parties extending weight, in our party all our aspirants are calm. Everybody is going left and right, trying to win votes for themselves.” The likes of Tinubu, the Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, and Vice President, Yemi Osinbanjo will be hoping to clinch the ticket of the party.
